Kurukshetra University Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences and Professor of Economics, Dr. Madan Mohan Goel is first Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Chair Professor of Indian economy in South Korea at Graduate School of International & Area Studies, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Seoul for two semesters during 2010-11, made his presence felt in foreign land as a true Indian from Kurukshetra in Haryana .

Ambassador for peace recognition has been bestowed upon him by the Universal Peace Federation and the inter-religious and International Federation for World Peace.

Earlier, he had worked as Chairman, Deptt. of Economics and also Deptt. of Journalism & Mass Communication, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. He has been teaching and guiding research in Economics of Human Resource Development & Indian Economy for the past 33 years.

Bhartiya Dalit Sahitya Akademi, Delhi has honoured him with Dr. Ambedkar Fellowship Award in 2003 for his writings on Ambedkar as an economist.

Professor Goel is also President of a national level organization ‘Antarjyoti ’. He has 166 publications including four books to his credit. He has successfully guided 12 Ph.D. and 25 M. Phil Scholars. He has also completed one major research project. He has established his credentials in economics journalism and development communication as Chief Editor ‘Kautilya’, a member Editorial Board of International Journal Indian Culture and Business Management (IJICBM), member of the editorial Board of Journal of Haryana Studies and editorial adviser economics dateline.

Professor Goel is a known name in print media for his comments on contemporary issues on Indian economy. He is the recipient of two gold medals for standing first class first in M. Phil (Economics) and PGDJMC.

Professor Goel was conferred Rotary Foundation Award for international understanding in 1983 which provided him the opportunity to represent India in USA, UK and Canada.
